The 2018 Diverge range is everything a mixed terrain adventure bike should be and more. The Diverge Comp E5 raises the bar of functionality in road bike design with a completely new frame and brand new performance features.
The new frame is constructed from our new E5 Premium Aluminium and takes design cues from our reimagined Roubaix. Light, stiff and durable, the new frame comfortably fits tyres of up to 700x42mm in response to customer requests for greater clearance. Now there’s even ample space for grit and mud picked up on muckiest trails.
The frame’s design benefits from our never-before-seen Open Road Geometry, completely redesigned specifically for the new 2018 Diverge. Gone is the traditional cross geometry, and in its place, an entirely new setup that resembles a road version of modern trail bike geometry. The bottom bracket is over half a centimetre lower than on the previous Diverge and the head tube angle is slacked out for greater stability. Short chain stays and a shorter wheelbase optimise playful handling, creating a bike that performs equally as well on the road and dirt.
Riding what feels like a road bike on the gravel or trail feels like an epic adventure, but there’s only so much that wider tyres and low pressures can absorb. To that end, we gave the 2018 Diverge a new version of our pioneering Future Shock technology. This suspension unit is optimised for predictable handling, so there’s no risk of under-steer or floppy handling through over-plush suspension.
The 2018 Diverge Comp E5 is equipped with mounts for three water bottles, racks and fenders, so it’s always ready for adventure, long or short. The frame is wrapped in a reliable Shimano 105 groupset, hassle-free mechanical Tektro disc brakes and durable Axis Elite wheels. Adventure calls, the Diverge answers.
Our Premium E5 aluminum frameset features our comfortable, but confidence-inspiring Open Road Geometry, Future Shock Progressive suspension with 20mm of travel, and front/rear thru-axles, making it the ultimate tool for your next adventure.
The lightweight FACT carbon fork is plenty stiff, aiding in handling, rigidity, and an overall light weight.
With Shimano 105 taking the reins on shifting, you'll experience crisp shifts for many miles to come.
